Failed to read file. I was able to load save file before doing anything with the toon, but after i leveled up a few times, now it can not load file and just gives me error "failed to read file" when i attempt to load the save file.

no, but it is d2r reimagined. Could that be why?

That can be the issue, if reimagined has certain features that the editor does not support. For example rune stacking or completely new affixes.
